Welcome to Life with AG: A Little Bit of Everything I Love

What this is

It’s a lifestyle blog, which is a phrase that means almost nothing, so here’s the specific version. Four things show up here over and over:

Everyday life. The ordinary-day stuff. Routines that stuck and routines that didn’t. What I’m reading, what I’m cooking too often, how I’m trying to make a normal week in feel a bit better than the last one.

Style and beauty. Not trends — I’m not fast enough for trends. The things I actually reach for. The six items I wear on repeat, the products I’ve repurchased more than twice, the ones I was talked into and regret.

Travel. How I plan, where I’ve been, and what I got wrong. I’m a chronic over-researcher in recovery, so a lot of this is me arguing with myself about how much planning is enough.

Dogs. Look, it was going to come up eventually. I’d rather be upfront.

Why “a little bit of everything”

Because I tried to pick a niche and I couldn’t do it.

Every guide will tell you to niche down. Pick one thing, own it, become the person people think of for that thing. It’s good advice and I’m sure it works. But I’d have lasted about three weeks writing only about skincare, and I’d have hated it by week two.

The things I like don’t sort neatly. A good day for me has a walk, something nice to wear, a decent coffee, and a plan for something to look forward to. That’s four categories in one Tuesday. Splitting them up felt like pretending to be a tidier person than I am.

So: a little bit of everything. It’s on the logo now, so it’s official.

Who’s writing

I’m AG. I’m the person who screenshots the outfit and never looks at it again. I’m bad at finishing books and good at starting them. I make a very specific breakfast and I’ve made it for two years without getting bored, which I think says something about me but I’m not sure what.

I have a dog, who is the reason one quarter of this blog exists and the reason the other three quarters take longer than they should.

I’m not an expert in any of this. That’s sort of the point — I’m figuring it out at roughly the same speed as you, and writing it down while it’s still fresh enough to be useful.

What you can expect

New posts when I have something worth saying rather than on a schedule, because I know myself and a schedule would turn this into homework by month two.

No sponsored posts pretending not to be sponsored. If something’s gifted or affiliate, it’ll say so at the top, in normal-sized text.

Honest opinions, including about things I spent money on and didn’t like. Those are the posts I search for when I’m deciding on something, so they seem like the ones worth writing.
